LARUS RESTAURANT

““Open to the tastes, open to the world””

The Larus Restaurant is the most vivid gastronomy center of the Buda hillside, in a busy area yet in the proximity of nature, in a tranquil location, next to the MOM Cultural Center. It offers a comfortable terrace during the summer time and a spacious indoor space during the winter, with an uninterrupted outlook to the Gesztenyés kert park and recreational area.

On the menu of the Larus Restaurant and Chef Péter Várvizi, the tastes are understandable for everyone; there are well-know dishes and specialties to be explored, following the course of seasonal ingredients. Based on the principles of French and Hungarian cuisine, we follow and mediate the novelties and most important gastronomic trends, in the interpretation of the Larus team.

Through regular, informal events presenting the cuisine of various nations, we mediate our accumulated and continuously acquired gastronomic knowledge to everyone who is open.

PÉTER VÁRVIZI
- the Chef -

Péter Várvizi is one of the most defining figures of current Hungarian state-of-the-art gastronomy, he belongs to the younger generation of the professional elite.

His dishes represent with a pure simplicity the conscious pairing of tastes and are characterized by diverse technologies, seasonal ingredients, as well as understandable and intriguing harmony of tastes. His menu is only as Hungarian as it is international.

From his international, professional experiences the most important ones are the years he spent in France, Italy, and Japan. The knowledge he acquired in Michelin star restaurants is also felt in the Larus Restaurant’s cuisine.

Péter Várvizi helped the Hungarian team as a coach for the selection of the 2014 Bocuse d'Or Europe, which, after a successful participation, made it to the finale as well. In the Gault&Millau guide that defines today’s gastronomy, Péter Várvizi constantly receives a review above 12 points.
